PANews reported on September 25 that Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, posted on the X platform that a new version of the Solidity compiler has been released. It is reported that the new version used Zig to build oksolc because it did not want to wait for the 10-minute Solidity compilation process. While maintaining the same generated bytecode, the compilation speed of some contracts increased by more than 5 times. The build time was shortened from 10 minutes to 2 minutes, and the incremental compilation time of large projects was reduced from 700 seconds to 99 seconds.
