Crypto industry job postings rise to 1,241 in September, applications drop to less than 20,000

ChainCatcher news, according to data from the encryption recruitment platform CryptoJobsList, the number of positions posted by cryptocurrency companies in September increased from 382 in July to 1,241, continuing to rise from 886 in August, and exceeding the 573 in January, the most active month of the year. The number of companies posting job openings rose to 125 in September, compared with 107 in July and dropped to 77 in August.

The platform believes that the rebound in hiring in September is in line with the seasonal pattern of business returning to normal after the northern hemisphere's summer off-season, but data shows that seasonality is not the whole reason: the number of positions in August has doubled compared with July, and there is no similar surge from August to September in the same period in 2025. There were only 373 positions in October, the most active month of the year, and the data from July to September were basically the same.

Contrary to the rise in job openings, applications fell from 25,700 in July to 24,631 in August, and fell further to less than 20,000 in September. CryptoJobsList interprets this differentiation as a sign of tightening competition for professional talent. In the past three months, finance has been the largest recruitment category, followed by engineering and trading. Stablecoins, AI, security and compliance also entered the top ten; the most commonly requested blockchain skills are Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana.
