NEAR Intents gives hackers 48 hours to return stolen funds

Odaily Planet Daily News NEAR Intents stated that it has confirmed the identity of the attacker who caused the loss of user funds and required it to return US$3.8 million in funds through the "responsible disclosure" mechanism within 48 hours. If it exceeds the deadline, the window will be closed.

NEAR Intents suspended services on Thursday after discovering a vulnerability in Omni's deposit and withdrawal infrastructure that interacts with its smart contracts. Preliminary investigation showed that the attack resulted in the theft of $3.8 million in user funds, and the platform promised to fully compensate affected users.

On-chain investigator ZachXBT revealed that the funds in question were transferred to the KuCoin exchange and subsequently transferred cross-chain to Bitcoin. (Cointelegraph)
